2009 CHANGES TO THE RECORD BOOK |

ENDURO AND WOMEN ON WHEELS STATISTICS MOVED TO EXHIBITION EVENTS SECTION: Click here to read about the details behind the changes for the Enduro events. Click here to read about the details behind the changes for the Women on Wheels history. |

TRUCK DIVISION MOVED FROM TOURING SERIES TO WEEKLY DIVISION: The Truck division began at the Speedbowl in 1997 and ran until 2000 with the Legends Cars as part of the non-Saturday series (Thursdays, then Sundays). When that series evolved into the Wild N' Wacky Wednesday series in 2001, the Trucks only returned as part of the All-Star Race Truck series for anywhere from 2 to 5 events a season. With the return of a Truck point division in 2009, we've moved those statistics back to division sections - in most categories in the Record Book, the Truck records can now be found under the Misc Divisions tab. |
||
LEGENDS CAR-WED CATEGORY REVISED TO LEGENDS CAR-MIDWEEK: Legends Cars began as part of the New England Dodge Dealers Legends Car Series, but has always had several events at the Speedbowl as part of a Thursday (1996-97), Sunday (1998-2000) or Wednesday (2001-present). In divisional categories in the Record Book, these various non-Saturday series have been combined into the Legends Car-Mid Week statistical grouping, expanding from the previous Legends Cars-Wednesday that dated back to only 2001. |
||
EXTRA DISTANCE EVENTS DEFINED AS EVENTS OF 50 LAPS or MORE FOR SK MODIFIEDS AND LATE MODELS: The weekly Modified and Late Model divisions have had varying lengths of there features - somewhere between 20 and 35 laps. This causes a conflict when compiling extra-distance wins defined as "feature length longer than a standard weekly feature". For example, in 1980 the Late Model events were 20 laps normally, but they did have a few 30 lappers. Should those 30 lap victories count as extra-distance wins when current Late Model race are that distance every week? So, to avoid those debates, at least statistically, all feature events for the track's 2 premiere divisions will be defined as extra-distance events at 50 laps or greater. The stock divisions, Legends Cars and Truck divisions will still be considered extra-distance events at 30 laps or greater since none of those divisions have had scheduled weekly events at longer than 25 laps at any point in their existence.
