***2009 UPDATE***

W.O.W. have been separated from Feature event Record Book

Like the Enduro statistics, the different incarnations of female events over the track's history were also re-evaluated and determined to be separated from the feature event statistics.  Unlike the Enduros though, this revision was not based largely on race structure as W.O.W. events were almost always run in feature race format.  But for the most part they've been exhibition events and the female competitors typically drive their male-counterparts' racecar from one of the supporting divisions.

From 1963 until 1988, these events were run as Powder Puff Derbies - typically 8-10 laps in length.  During the Pure Stock era in 1993-1994, they were called Women on Wheels for the first time, and run as point divisions and champions declared.  These 2 years saw the most races in a season (10 and 11 respectively) and was arguably the most competitive of any of the  female-competitor series.  When the Sunday shows went back to Enduro events in 1995, the female races were called Ladies race and were typically 8-15 laps and run with predominately borrowed cars.  This format ran until 1999.

In 2004, the female events returned as Women On Wheels and ran 8-12 lap events in borrowed X-car and Super X-cars as part of the Wild N' Wacky Wednesday series.  Although they've had points tallied and champions crowned, the W.O.W. fields have been less than 10 cars and many times less than 5 cars, and only ran 2-4 races each season.

Although the format within the various female events has changed over the years, they remain an exhibition event statistically and will have they're own section here, removed from the other feature event statistics in the Record Book.  The W.O.W. statistics have been separated by 8-cylinder and 4-cylinder events and can be viewed by selecting the tabs above.  There are 22 events between the 2 classes that have unverified winners, making the W.O.W. section largely unofficial until the remaining information is gathered.
